The Mid America Heart Institute and Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City are seeking a board certified/board-eligible heart failure trained or specialized cardiologist to lead the regional heart failure program in support of our advanced heart failure, transplant, and MCS team. 

About the position  

  • The applicant’s clinical focus will be on caring for patients with heart failure in both the office and inpatient setting. Additional clinical duties could include cardiovascular imaging, such as echocardiography.
  • The primary practice location would be at our Saint Luke’s East Hospital to work within our heart failure clinic and dedicated inpatient heart failure rounding service. Services include a high-risk heart failure clinic, dedicated inpatient heart failure rounding team, advanced digital health and telemonitoring infrastructure including video visits, hospital-in-your-home program, and mature heart failure clinical trials program.
  • The applicant will participate in clinical and echocardiography practice at our Saint Luke’s Hospital main campus and regional outreach sites.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary discussions regarding patient selection and protocol development for advanced heart failure therapies.
  • If interested, involvement in our Clinical Scholars Research Program led by John Spertus, Paul Chan, and Mikhail Kosiborod is possible and candidates focused on advancing innovation and contributing to scholarly activity will be recruited with an appropriate support package.
  • Qualified applicants will be recruited to a leadership position in our regional heart failure operations focused on community outreach development.
  • Employment position with the Saint Luke’s Physician Group, Cardiovascular division, which includes 65 cardiologists and 45 advanced practice providers with a very high-volume practice.
