Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments that identify mental health needs of students, utilizing standardized tools and interviews.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessed needs, ensuring that evidence-based interventions are utilized.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community resources to create a comprehensive support network around each student.
- Provide education and resources to students and their families regarding mental health issues, available services, and coping strategies.
- Stay informed on current mental health research and effective interventions, contributing to ongoing professional development.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your focus will primarily be on school-aged children, addressing a range of mental health issues from anxiety and depression to the aftereffects of trauma. You will work with diverse student populations and families, tailoring your approach to support various cultural backgrounds and mental health experiences. You will have the capacity to make a substantial impact on students' academic performance and overall well-being.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- A valid LCSW-C license in the state of Maryland.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health, preferably within a school-related setting.
- Proficiency in solution-focused and evidence-based psychotherapy interventions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to develop effective treatment strategies.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working specifically with children and adolescents in educational settings.
- Familiarity with school-based mental health programs and services.
- Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and tracking.
Compensation and Benefits
